The major reason for the delay in this issue of the Interceptor was trying to arrange transportation for a reasonable price. We were not able to do this so we will provide our own transportation to the Oktoberfest and Banquet. Because of this we have a price reduction for both of these events. The price for the Oktoberfest Friday evening will be $40.00 per person. This will get you two beers (Hofbräu aus München), wine or soda; Pilar pretzel, bratwurst, roast chicken or schweinshaxe dinner; and, reserved seating. Saturday’s banquet at the Feasting Fox will also see a price reduction. Your choice of Prime Rib or Salmon will now be $30.00 including tax and gratuity. The next edition of the Interceptor on August 1st will include the Reservation Request form. For those of you not familiar with how we operate the reunions, your payment for functions you will be attending are expected by the closing date on the form. In this case it will be August 31st. We make every effort, successfully in the past, to refund all but the $15 registration fee for cancelations due to illness or other major life events.
ASMNYou BAers might want to check out the Bad Aibling Lawn Tennis Association web site at http://balta.wordpress.com if you haven’t already done so. We aren’t getting any younger. The USASA Alumni Association, National Capital Area, is seeing a significant decline in their annual luncheons. So much so that they are considering an alternative way of providing for the immortality of the ASA. Rather than continue their annual luncheons they are considering endowing an academic chair at the American Military University (AMU). You can check the AMU out at http://www.amu.apus.edu. By the way, the ASA Alumni Association Picnic at Blobs Park (Next to Fort Meade) is scheduled for this coming August 1st.
