The E-Mail Newsletter of the Army Security Agency Alpiners Reunion Group Volume 6 – Number 12 ASMNDoug Gitt (Bad Aibling 67-70) passed along a request from Rob Dethlefsen (Herzo 67-70). It seems that Rob had contacted the Bad Aibling group BALTA (Bad Aibling Lawn Tennis Association) to ask about an ASA stein he purchased dated 1957, with the Maxlrain Brewery on the front and a banner that reads “MAXLRAIN THE FIGHTING FOURTH SUB AREA.” The name “James K. Ward” is inscribed on it. As 1957 is pre-BALTA (66-71), can anyone enlighten us about the “fighting fourth sub area?” For those of you that miss some of the old Bavarian type of music you might want to try this web site out: http://www.radio-heimatmelodie.de. It’s especially good in the evening hours here in the States. Joe Strock (Wels/Bad Aibling/Notau 53-56) passed along a web site that has metal license plate frames for ASAers. Thanks to Joe I’ve got one and it’s brought me into contact with several ASAers I previously didn’t know. The site for the license plate frame is: http://www.cafepress.com:80/armyasa.2440194.
