Volume 1 - Number 1 REUNION UPDATE May's e-mail edition of The ASA Interceptor
will include (or as a separate mailing) the Advance
Planning profile for the Charleston Reunion. The Planning Profile
is your best guess and not an
actual commitment to attend. Jim Natividad will use the Planning Profile
to make sure that his
plans for attendance, room sizes and fair distribution of costs is attained. We
beg and plead with
you, if you think you will be going to the reunion, complete the Profile
and send it back to Jim
ASMNOpening Page Music: Some time back one of you sent me an e-mail asking what they name of the music was that came up with the opening page of our web site. I passed along the requested information at that time. Unfortunately our Webmaster has lost the music and I can't find it myself. So if you were the person that got the music site, and you still know where it is, please let me know so we can get the Webmaster to reproduce it again. E-Mail: With the volume of e-mail that comes
into the Alpiners, the vast majority of it is SPAM.
I am very unforgiving if I don't know the sender or there is a suspicious subject
so, if you are
sending mail, make sure you have a subject that is identifiable to the Alpiners. Suspicious
mail
is dumped into my SPAM folder without opening.
Pat Ulmen** (Scheyern 52-55) and his Granite
Statesmen Chorus celebrated their 50 Year
Anniversary this past February 26th. Pat reports that it was a memorable
party that provided two
hours of wonderful entertainment including historic video clips highlighting
the chorus' history
and portions of their most important performances.
Charles Wetherbee (Rothwesten 57-59) updated
his e-mail address and sent along a couple
pictures of himself in his Revolutionary War re-enactment and PA National Guard
(Veteran
Guard) uniforms. Jeez Chuck, they are almost as gaudy as my St. Louis
Schuetzenverein
uniform.
Gus Gruneisen reports that seven couples representing
the 353rd Comm. Recon. Co. are holding
a mini-reunion in Peoria, IL, on April 28, 2005. They will be staying
at the Pere Marquette Hotel
there.
Frank Deubel (Herzo) sent us a change of address. Nothing
noteworthy about that? Well it
seems that Frank's move was through the unexpected and unwanted courtesy
of Hurricane
Charlie when it hit Punta Gorda, Florida, his old home. Now Frank calls
North Port Florida his
home.
Dawn Orlosky, daughter of Chuck Jenks (Scheyern)
reminds us of the time in 1955 when,
celebrating her birth in Munich, we got Chuck plastered and then a bunch of
the Charlie Trickers
went into Munich to visit Elaine. Since Chuck was "out of it", can't
remember who it was that
claimed to be Elaine's husband so we could get into the hospital. Boy,
you would have thought
that we would have buried some of our past escapades deep in our memories but
darned if
somehow those memories carry on.
